SUGAR SCULL LADY

Below is a step by step photo guide to make this look

Finished look. The inspiration comes from Mexico, where Día de Muertos is celebrated and this type of makeup is known as a Catrina look. Small skull-shaped sugar candies are traditionally made for Día de Muertos, which is where the term “sugar skull” comes from. This was my first attempt at a Catrina look.
1. Take the primer (Maybelline poreless Jelly used here).
2. Add a couple of pumps of primer on your palm and spread it on your face.
3. Add Kryolan white paint stick (or other white grease paint) on your face and neck. Ears too if they show in your final look.
4. No need to add white around your eyes.
5. Blend the white evenly on your skin with your fingers.
6. Take white translucent power (Kryolan used here) and Baby Powder.
7. Add baby Powder on your neck. (Baby Powder is about 3€, and Kryolan Powder is about 25€. On the neck you don't really see the difference but your wallet will thank you).
8. Add translucent powder on your face.
9. Take black aquacolour, works like water colour (Kryolan used here).
10. Draw the black eye shapes.
11. Fill in the black eye shapes.
12. Black eye shapes filled (if you are in a hurry, this could work as a modern minimal halloween look too).
13. Start painting the nose shape with black. Leave a white line in the middle.
14. Nose painted.
15. Start drawing the flower petals around your black eye shape. Eyeliner pen might be easier to use thank liquid colour.
16. Continue drawing the flower petals
17. To make the other eye symmetrical, mark the petal starting points first.
18. Eye shapes done.
19. Draw/paint more shapes. Here starting with spider web shape with aquacolor and small brush.
20. Draw spots to help with drawing the lines.
21. Finished spider web shape done on the forehead. I added one more line because there was too much room between the eye makeup and the spiderweb. Added a line to decorate the chin also.
22. Take black eyeshadow and draw on hollow cheeks.
23. Blend the cheek shadow.
24. Take the lip paint. Kryolan pink aquacolour used here.
25. Paint the lips.
26. Kind of cute feminine curved small lips done.
27. Take aquacolor to start filling the flower petals around your eyes. Purple used here.
28. Keep filling the petals.
29. Petals filled.
30. Add some colour to the chin too.
31. Paint the mouth to look more like scull mouth. Start with a horizonttal line.
32. Add vertical lines.
33. Basic painting work is done.
34. Start gluing some plastic jewels on your face with Kryolan Spirit Gum.
35. Add some glue to the jewel.
36. You can also add a bit of glue to the point where you will stick the gemstone.
37. Place the jewel on its place (when the glue has become more tacky but before the glue dries hard).
38. She is stoned now (with 14 jewels).
39. Add glue to the lashes.
40. Place the lashes on your lids, right above your own lashes.
41. The makeup is done.
42. Add the rest of your look and you are ready to party.
